Sir Stamford Raffles is the founding father of modern Singapore and thus the name is suitable for this particular body shape which gives a modern twist to the traditional dreadnought. Raffles is essentially a small jumbo with the same body width and length as the dreadnought but a more curved in bottom bout. The curved bottom bout eliminates the boomy lows you normally find in the dreadnought and at the same time makes the guitar more suitable for finger-picking as its clarity is boosted. Rich, clean, loud with ample presence is what you can expect.
